"Since this was my first experience in surgery, I was very nervous! But I was quickly put at ease by my surgeon and his staff. During my first consultation you explained to me in simple language the steps of my surgery and what the end results would be. I love the results!"
"So glad I went to you guys!!
So happy with the results!
My surgeon was able to fix the problem so that I am able to breathe better, but he also straightened my nose and made it look great! You gave me the best look for my face! Thank you".
"Working in healthcare over 10 years I have worked with many doctors, nurses and anesthesiologists. I know what qualities to look for when looking for a plastic surgeon especially when it's plastic surgery. Your staff is exceptional..you made me feel extremely comfortable and I am completely satisfied".
"I am so thankful I found TopSurgeonsMexico. After so many years of wanting a nose job, I finally decided to go through with it with the perfect team. I felt very comfortable with the practice. My results are perfect. I would recommend him to anyone who asks".
What is the Rhinoplasty procedure?
The intervention aims to reshape the nose to embellish it. This is specifically to correct these mishaps, whether congenital, related to trauma, or due to aging.
The goal is to get a natural looking nose, being in harmony with the other facial features, suitable for psychology and the patient's personality, and meet the demands of the latter.
Rhinoplasty can be performed alone or be associated with other complementary interventions face.
The operation, performed as well in women than in men.
Before the Rhinoplasty
The motivations and requests of the patient will be analysed during the preoperative consultation with the surgeon.
No medication containing aspirin should be taken within 10 days before surgery.
Stopping smoking is obligatory before surgery.
Anaesthesia for Rhinoplasty
Usually the procedure is done with a local anesthetic depth by tranquilizers administered intravenously.
How long does Rhinoplasty take?
Depending on the surgeon, the extent of improvement, and the possible need for further actions, the procedure can last from 45 minutes to two hours.
During the surgery your surgeon can
- Remove a bump
- Increase/Decrease the projection of the nose
- Correct a crooked nose
- Narrow the nose
- Increase/Decrease the size of the nose
- Correct a drooping or hanging tip
- Relieve airway obstruction
- Correct deformities of the nose by adding to, taking away, reshaping and/or rearranging the cartilage and bones within the nose.
How visible will Rhinoplasty scars be?
Incisions are made inside the nostrils, no scar is visible to following rhinoplasty (this method is called close rhinoplasty).
This approach is ideal for minor issues such as narrowing the patient’s nasal bridge or removing a hump.
However, sometimes a small incision is performed at the columella (the partition between the two nostrils), or at the crease of the nostril if a particular gesture is considered (this method is called open rhinoplasty).
An open rhinoplasty is used to address more extensive issues. This approach allows your surgeon the exposure he needs to provide with accurate, precise and more predictable results than the closed rhinoplasty does. For the most part, the tiny scar that results from an open rhinoplasty is nearly invisible.
What is the recovery time healing process for a Rhinoplasty?
The surgery is usually an outpatient practice, that is to say by day hospitalization with an exit on the same day after several hours of surveillance.
Tapes and a splint are placed across the back of the nose, and there may be packing or stents in the nostrils. You may experience temporary swelling, numbness, discomfort, and bruising that respond well to head elevation, ice packs, saline spray and Arnica Montana herbal supplementation.
Oedema and sometimes bruising may appear on the eyelids. The extent and duration are highly variable from one individual to another.
The procedure is rarely painful and it is rather impossible to breathe through the nose which is the main inconvenience of the early days.
It is recommended to rest and make no effort day after surgery.
The scars of the intervention will diminish gradually, allowing the return to her daily after a few days Sport and violent activities should be avoided during the first two months.
How long after a rhinoplasty do you start seeing results?
Within three to five months is required to have a good overview of the result, knowing that the final appearance will be obtained after 8 months to 12 months after surgery.
